The town of
Walmer lies between the towns of Deal and Dover on a stretch of coast that
extends from the legendary White Cliffs to the age-old Sandwich Bay. This area
of the ancient Cinque Ports is brimming with history including Deal, Walmer and
Dover Castles as well as the coastline abutting the English Channel. This area includes
the dangerous Goodwin Sands as well as the regular sea crossing between the UK.
Walmer has a population of over 7,000 residents and is constantly growing and expanding throughout the town, of the current population a significant number are of elderly residents with Deal and Walmer traditionally being one of the most popular retirement areas in Kent.
